Becca Schinagl

My name is Becca Schinagl and I am a Chartered Physiotherapist here at Oakwood Physiotherapy.

I graduated from the Masters Physiotherapy course at Northumbria University, having completed a BSc Undergraduate Degree in Sports and Exercise Sciences prior.

This background underpinned my knowledge of the anatomy of the body, and how it can be affected and treated to manage your symptoms and establish the root cause of the problem.

I am a qualified Reformer Pilates Instructor, which enhances my ability to provide a low-impact rehabilitation approach, interjected at the right time throughout your journey. Inaddition, I can help with ongoing, full body strengthening for injury prevention.

At Oakwood, I utilise multiple methods of treatment such as Shockwave Therapy and Acupuncture to decrease pain, initiate healing and optimise your outcome. I am an experienced Sports Masseuse and offer sports massages alongside Physiotherapy here at Oakwood.

Sam Mellor MCSP, Chartered Physiotherapist, HCPC

My name is Sam Mellor and I am a Chartered Physiotherapist working at Oakwood Physiotherapy & Wellness Centre. I completed my BSc Physiotherapy degree from the University of Nottingham and since then have worked within the private sector, the NHS and elite sport. I was fortunate enough to work within Nottingham Forest Academy and with Boston United Football Club as their ‘Head of Medicine’. These variety of roles have helped me gain a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience in treating many musculoskeletal conditions for all ages.

Working alongside you, I want to restore your movement and function to get you back to your normal daily activities. I have completed courses on Diagnostic Ultrasound and regularly use this as an adjunct to help reach the correct diagnosis for you. Utilising hands-on physiotherapy techniques and exercise prescription, I aim to not only improve your symptoms but tackle the root cause of your problem. I am passionate about empowering patients’ health and wellbeing and keen to keep people fit and active.

My special interest is the treatment and management of Shoulder and Ankle injuries. As a keen runner, I regularly research and enjoy treating common running injuries. It gives me great joy getting people back out there running.

My name is Liam Dinnall-Bateman and I am a Chartered Physiotherapist at Oakwood Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre. I have been working here since 2022 and have gained a variety of skills to treat all musculoskeletal complaints.

Before becoming a physiotherapist, I was a professional footballer for Aston Villa Football Club. Sadly, during my time there, my professional career ended due to a fractured (tib/fib) and associated compartment syndrome. After this, I made it my ambition to help and care for others.

I have prior experience as a qualified Personal Trainer, a sports masseur and as a Healthcare assistant in the NHS. Here I gained experience in Acute Stroke Rehabilitation and Respiratory. Alongside my Physiotherapy role here, I have kept involved in football as a physiotherapist for Derby County Academy.

I am a Physiotherapist taking pride in my work ensuring I have done all that is needed to benefit my patients. I believe working together will always help achieve the best outcome. I am ready to support you on your journey to becoming injury and pain-free.
